Motovelodromo Fausto Coppi

Turin

The Motovelodromo Fausto Coppi is one of the most historic and iconic sports venues in Turin. Inaugurated in 1920 to a design by architect Vittorio Ballatore di Rosana, a leading figure of Turin’s Liberty style, it is now the oldest sports facility still in operation in Piedmont.
Originally conceived to host cycling races and motorcycle competitions, the Motovelodromo is distinguished by its historic 393-metre elliptical concrete track, featuring banked curves designed also for motor racing. Throughout the twentieth century, it became a symbol of Turin’s sporting heritage, hosting stages of the Giro d’Italia and the Milano-Torino race, as well as legendary champions such as Bartali, Coppi and Moser.
Over the years, the facility has served a wide range of uses: beyond cycling, it has hosted Torino FC matches, matches of the Italian national team, rugby, baseball, American football, concerts and major cultural events.
Since 2020, the Motovelodromo has been undergoing a progressive restoration and redevelopment programme.

Zumaglini & Gallina S.p.A. Società Benefit is carrying out the comprehensive refurbishment works on the north stand, the south stand and the press stand. The internal areas of the stands will include spaces for gym activities, commercial use and sports medicine facilities.
More than a sports venue, the Motovelodromo Fausto Coppi is regarded as a true landmark in Turin’s sporting history, a place where architecture, sport and culture have been intertwined for over a century.
